Vanderbilt University Launched a balloon on Monday the 21st during the Eclipse to gather information for NASA.
DCCARC member (Vice President) KM4ACK and his son Ethan were able to track the balloon on APRS. They then tracked across a dense wooded area and recovered the instrument package. KV4VV and KN4BQL served as backup for the team in the woods. Thanks to all for a good job. Photos below by KM4ACK and KN4BQL.
Meanwhile Cannon EMA activated EOC at the Lions Club building in Woodbury. Cannon County ARES was asked to activate along with them. Justin Harris EMA Director, Roy Sullivan E911 Director, Set up with remote 911 and radio equipment. KG4IKT Cannon County ARES Director and W4HZB assisted and set up MESH system for internet connection.
